Jowhara Hotel, Dahab, South Sinai
The Jowhara Hotel has been in the El Towery family for 20 years. The El Towery family are from the Mazaina Tribe in South Sinai and the family has lived in the Sinai for approx 300 years. Historically, the hotel was a small camp consisting of bamboo huts and it has grown over the years into a 55 room hotel. The translation of Jowhara is Arabic for jewel. This hotel is a traditional Bedouin hotel and is run by Bedouin staff. It's very welcoming, easy going and very lay back with staff that cannot do enough for you to make you feel at home.
Tracey's take...
People come here year after year for its friendly family orientated atmosphere, humour and the simplicity. It's hard not to fall in love with the place and the people; it is also the head office for the "Bedouin Experience", so please come in for a chat and a 'chai' even if you're not staying here.
Location
Hotel Jowhara's central position in Dahab gives it easy access to the many facilities in and around town. Lagoona for example, is only a 5 minutes walk and the Light House area is approximately 10 minutes away by foot. It will only take you 5 minutes to get to the many bazaars and restaurants on the seafront.
